Access to Appropriate Expert Medical Care for All Performing Artists
SeaPAM is not affiliated with any one clinic, individual, or institution. Membership is FREE and open to all medical professionals, students, educators, artists, and arts supporters who support the mission of SeaPAM. We welcome all interested individuals to join us in any of our education, networking, leadership, and clinical service activities. Clinical Volunteering (Free Clinic and Screenings)Members interested in volunteering clinical services for SeaPAM are invited to sign up.
SeaPAM Free Clinic: The free clinic is held approximately 1 day per month. It is open to dancers and other performing artists to get advice regarding their injuries and other health concerns. The day may change from month to month, depending on volunteer availability but typically occurs on Sunday mornings. Screenings: Health screenings are held 2-5 times per year at local colleges, schools, and for professional dance companies. |
Journal ClubWe welcome all members of the local dance medicine community to join us for our monthly Journal Club discussions. Join us and other physicians, physical therapists, dance educators, members of the complementary and alternative medicine community, and trainees interested in pursuing dance medicine as a career.
Journal club happens 4-6 times per year. We choose several articles and discuss them over dinner. Occasionally, we host a special lecture or demonstration, depending on availability and interest. |
